Elle was a coworker of mine. I admire Elle. She works very hard at her craft, she is a hairstylist by trade. I love her spirit. Recently Elle visited Ecuador. I saw this photo on her facebook page and I had asked her if she would like to be featured on High Altitude. When she graciously accepted I asked her to write her why. This is Elle’s story.

High Altitude Living Story from Elle Brozowski
I was born in California. Where all the leaves are brown and the skies are grey. It’s no surprise I ended up in Colorful Colorado.

I’ve only been in Colorado for 2 years now but it truly feels like where I have always needed to be. I was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah the oldest of four kids. I had a very active childhood. I started dancing when I was 3, ballet was my passion and I danced through college. Dance just clicked for my kinesthetic brain.

I also loved dressing up, getting my hair and makeup done for recitals and competitions. When I was twelve my dad realized I might be onto something while watching me braid my own hair. From that point on it was my family duty to cut my younger sister and brothers hair. Currently I am a professional hairstylist and barber and although I don’t dance on a team anymore I found yoga, which is a dance in its own way. I practice on my mat and metaphors for life find me through poses. If I have a challenging day I can remember to breath, take it one step at a time and focus on positive energy where I need it most.

Elle has a blog of her own that High Altitude would like to share. bonellebelleblog.worpress.com
Thanks Elle! What an amazing story of what it means to High Altitude!

Kyle’s Story

Featured Story of High Altitude Living Kyle McNally

High Altitude is honored to introduce you to Kyle “K1, Mally Mile” McNally. Kyle is our first featured athlete who is sharing his story of who he is and why he does what he does.

Kyle and I met about 20 years ago when he and his family moved in next door to me. He and his siblings would come over often and visit with me, my 5 dogs and my husband. At first I thought it was a little odd for a 5 year old, his brother who was 4 and his sister who was 1 at the time to want to be over my house with no kids. As time went on we forged a great friendship and I consider them my family next door.

I have since moved away but my passion for Kyle and his family lives on and I have been able to watch them all grow up into wonderful people, awesome students and talented athletes. Kyle was always active. Karate, Boy Scouts, and running. I have seen this young boy grow up into a fine athlete and man. He has an awesome family who has supported him throughout his life and athletic endeavors.

Here is where we are featuring Kyle doing what he does, living the High Altitude Life. When I asked him what his why is this is what he sent me. “I run because I love to compete. I race to win in the races I sign up for. To be a top competitor, you have to train hard and consistently. When I wake up, the #1 thing on my mind is when can I run today. And I’ll think about it all day until I do work out or run. It also makes me feel good about my body image. I like my lean, muscular build and running helps maintain that physique too.”

Kyle is a High Altitude Living rock star and I am very pleased to be able to feature him here today.
We are always looking for featured people who want to share their why here. If you are a person who is always pushing every day to be a better version of yourself, whether you run, compete, eat clean, help others, travel, do yoga, whatever drives you to be a better person please send us your photograph and a story and we will let you know if we decide to feature you here!

This post is dedicated to Kyle’s father John McNally who we lost suddenly in 2012. John boy be proud of your children, you are missed my dear friend.
